Economics

Economics is the study of the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. The field of study is often broadly divided into microeconomics and macroeconomics. Microeconomics studies the systems that have a small, more local impact: households, firms and buyers/sellers. Macroeconomics studies the larger systems that have a national or global impact: inflation, unemployment, overall economic growth and fiscal policies. Because micro- and macroeconomics include careful analysis of business, industry, governments, and people (consumers), economic coursework is often required in a variety of disciplines including business and political science.
