Accreditation

Structured Around Quality Improvement

Kishwaukee College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) which is a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Since 2005, Kishwaukee College has been accredited through the HLC Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). Kishwaukee College structures its accreditation around quality improvement processes and systems.

For more information on the AQIP program at KC, view our Completed Action Projects.

The Systems Portfolio covers the six AQIP Categories, describing processes, results and improvement in each of the institution’s systems, and shows evidence that the institution continues to meet HLC's five Criteria for Accreditation. The portfolio is appraised by a team of HLC peer reviewers, who provide feedback on the institution’s strengths and opportunities for improvement.

The Higher Learning Commission has recently retired the AQIP model. Moving forward, Kishwaukee College will be a part of the Open Pathways model.
