Students will learn the responsibilities of both the flagger and the employer, how to deal with work zone hazards and what safety equipment is needed to get everyone home safely. A portion of the class will be conducted outdoors so prepare for any type of weather.
The certification exam will be administered and graded at the end of class. Participants who pass the exam receive their certification card immediately and will be entered into the ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) system. A flaggers job is to protect workers, and the traveling public from each other. Flaggers can earn between $15-$18/hr.
Participants must be 18 years of age.
