A bright future starts with a quality education. Kishwaukee College offers several scholarship opportunities to help students cover the cost of their education. In 2023, Kish provided more than $645,000 in scholarships to help students achieve academic success.

In addition to the Kishwaukee College Foundation scholarships, the College offers several scholarship opportunities to provide financial support.

External Scholarships

Students are encouraged to check out local civic, service, and fraternal organizations for possible scholarship opportunities. 

  • Laundry Guru Sustainable Business Scholarship for all business majors who believe in sustainable business practices — Deadline: May 1, 2024
  • Complete Web Resources Scholarships- Available $1000 scholarship to any current, full-time student enrolled in an accredited university or college in the United States, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. There is no age requirement for scholarship applicants. — Deadline: May 1, 2024
  • Quality Hoops Scholarship- A one-time scholarship for $500 to an outstanding university student. Requires a 300-word essay to submit. — Deadline: May 1, 2024
  • Pet Living with Kristen Levine Scholarship for current students enrolled in a Veterinary program at an accredited institution — Deadline: May 13, 2024
  • Gerber & Holder Attorney Scholarship- This scholarship is for $1,000 and asks to submit a thoughtful 300-500 word essay in response to a prompt given by the law firm.— Deadline: May 20, 2024
  • Docking Drawer- One-time scholarship of $1000 to one outstanding university student. Requires a 300-word essay. — Deadline: May 28, 2024
  • Justice Hero Scholarship awards $1000 to one outstanding university student. The scholarship requires students to create and submit a 300-word essay describing thr influence of recent legal changes on mass tort  litigation and class action lawsuits. — Deadline: May 31, 2024 
  • Dimocycle Scholarship for Future Entrepreneurs- A $1,000 scholarship for students who are at least a sophomore in a business program and currently taking courses towards the degree. — Deadline: June 1, 2024
  • The Lariat STEM Scholar Program is directed towards students between 18-24, from lower-income families in rural areas, who are pursuing a degree in math or science  — Deadline: June 15, 2024
  • Learner Calculus Scholarship for all students studying a STEM major. — Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • Learner Math Lover Scholarship for anyone who loves math — Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • Learner SAT Scholarship for all high school students who are preparing to take the SAT — Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • MoreWithUs Fall 2024 Scholarship Competition- Two $500 scholarships which can be used toward books, tuition, or anything else related to school expenses. One-page essay or a short video about a work or volunteer experience. — Deadline: June 30, 2024
  • Learner Mental Health Empowerment Scholarship for any student that has ever or currently faces mental health challenges — Deadline: July 1, 2024
  • VNutrition & Wellness’ Annual LGBTQ+ Vitality Scholarship is open to all high school senior, undergraduate, and graduate students that identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community — Deadline: July 1, 2024
  • Industrial Metal Service is offering a $1,000 scholarship for students currently enrolled in accredited universities within the United States and high school seniors who have been accepted into a university program for summer or fall semester 2024— Deadline: July 15, 2024
  • Lemon Law Expert Scholarship-  A $1,000 scholarship opportunity for students pursuing a degree in law. Must have a 3.0 GPA.— Deadline: August 31, 2024
  • TrophyCentral Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship awarded to qualifying high school seniors. Other requirements are a minimum GPA of 3.25, demonstration of unique or special form of sportsmanship, kindness or compassion. — Deadline: September 2024
  • Sports Gear Swag $1000 Scholarship- The Sports Gear Swag scholarship offers a one-time prize of $1,000, which can cover various education-related costs such as tuition, books, computers, accommodation, and other necessary expenses. There are no GPA requirements and no application forms. It's our way of giving back and supporting individuals who want to pursue their dreams through education.— Deadline: October 1, 2024
  • PTCB Exam Practice Test Scholarship: This $1,500 opportunity asks students to write an original essay addressing the provided topic. Showcase your creativity, critical thinking skills, and passion for your chosen field of study. — Deadline: December 1, 2024
  • WellBefore Scholarship-  a one time scholarship for high school seniors with priority given to students going into medical, culinary and aesthetic courses. — Deadline: January 4, 2025
  • Wrist-band.com Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship opportunity which requires a 300-word essay. — Deadline: Spring 2025
  • "$$$ Isn't Everything" Scholarship is a monthly $550 scholarship meant to help reduce a little bit of financial worry for a new student or graduate each month, and to help someone get a bit of time back to focus on the important things in life — Deadline: Monthly

  • Western Governors University Scholarship Opportunities: WGU provides a unique educational experience, offering online, competency-based bachelor's and master's degree programs in business, information technology, education, and health professions, including nursing — Deadlines: Varies
  • Ford Fund- TechForce- Ford Fund and Ford Dealers have teamed up to welcome the next generation of auto technicians by awarding $5,000 tuition scholarships to students pursuing careers in auto, diesel or, auto/diesel technology. This need-based scholarship is applied to a student’s school tuition account and may be used for all cost of attendance, including tuition, tools, living expenses and transportation. — Deadlines: 4-months prior to start date of school
  • DeKalb County Community Foundation- More than 90 Scholarship Funds exist through the DeKalb County Community Foundation. These Funds support undergraduate and graduate education, trades and technical training, and other educational opportunities. The eligibility criteria, selection committee, school, and field of study vary and reflect the charitable wishes of the donors who established the Fund. — Deadline: Ongoing
