"The Dialogues" Discussion Series Begins Sep. 26

Kishwaukee College professors will lead thoughtful academic discussion in regularly-occurring series on campus, known as The Dialogues. Assistant Professor of Sociology, Pernevlon Ellis and Assistant Professor of History, Jennifer Jossendal will debut the series with, The Dialogues: #BadWords: Language, Technology, and Free Speech on Wednesday, September 26, from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm in the room A1273 on campus. This event is free and open to the public.

The Dialogues series will be held approximately once each month and allow for members of the community to join Kishwaukee College faculty, staff and students in thoughtful, civil discourse on topics relevant to the current events and issues facing the United States and its role in the world. 

The Dialogues: #BadWords will be a comprehensive discussion detailing the historical and sociological evolution of free speech in America, both in practice and theory. Discussion will cover advancements of technology and the important impact on speech, language, literacy, and various Constitutional freedoms those improvements have produced.

Upcoming series dates occur on the fourth Wednesday of every month. The second forum in The Dialogues series will be Why Your Vote Matters: Local State & National Elections and will be held on Wednesday, November 28 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm in the room A1225.
