Grants

On This Page: Federal & State Grants | Perkins Grant | PATH Grant | Get Help With Grants

Grants are funds that help pay for college and don’t need to be repaid. This page focuses on Kish-specific grant programs that can support students in certain programs or life situations.

Most students may also qualify for federal and state grants (like Pell and MAP) by completing the FAFSA. To learn more about those, visit the Financial Aid page.

Federal & State Grants

Most students receive additional help through federal and state grants after completing the FAFSA. These include programs like:

  • Federal Pell Grant – based on financial need
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) – additional need-based aid
  • Illinois MAP Grant – state grant for eligible Illinois residents
  • Veteran & Military Grants – such as IVG and National Guard grants for eligible service members

You don’t apply for these individually—your eligibility is determined through your FAFSA and reviewed by the Financial Aid Office.

Perkins Grant

Perkins grants serve students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. While Perkins' primary focus is nontraditional students, other ways to qualify include, but are not limited to, Pell/MAP recipients, single parent/pregnant students, and unemployed individuals.

PATH Grant (Health Careers)

Pipeline for the Advancement of the Health Care Workforce (PATH) provides tuition assistance and support services for students pursuing high-demand healthcare careers. PATH is designed to help students earn credentials or degrees in health science programs while addressing workforce shortages across Illinois.

PATH tuition assistance is not currently accepting applications due to funding limitations. Availability may change in future terms.
